Why Metis
In Greek myth, Metis is the goddess of wisdom and cunning: the kind of wit that finds a way when the situation is unclear.
That is what we want our games to ask of players: read the situation, weigh it up and make your own call.
What we believe
Easy to learn, hard to master
A good game lets a newcomer learn the rules in minutes and still shows a veteran something new after hundreds of games.
Respect for the original
When we bring a familiar game to phones, we keep the rules that make it good. For cờ úp, that means moving by position, revealing on the move and capturing pieces that are still face down.
Care in the details
A game you remember lives in small moments: a piece turning over at the right beat, wood tapping the board. We take care over each of them.
How we make games
We make few games and take our time with each one. A game ships only when we want to play it every day ourselves.
Play Metis is a multi-genre studio. Our online cờ úp game is our first project, not our limit.
